Submission for Tirana Game Jam 2023

"Rebirth" is a game about trauma and the struggle of overcoming it. This is a first person experience created in Unity You get to play as a young father in a couple who just lost their newborn child. In the nights after the traumatic event our main character experiences nightmares that remind him of the pain the couple went through at the hospital. The couple hasn't been communicating with one another after what happened. They're both trying to process the event separately. The apartment they live in was prepared for the arrival of the newborn, but now the crib is empty. It's late at night, you go to your room and try to fall asleep. Every night it's the same nightmare. You find yourself at the hospital, with a gun that you purchased in real life to protect the family. The corridors of the hospital are dark and difficult to navigate. In the distance you can barely hear the cries of your child. Your goal as a grieving parent is to do whatever you can to bring back your baby, and this time, you will let no one stop you. At a certain point in the game, our "hero" will be presented with a choice. What will be reborn, the dead child or the couple's relationship? Our team, leaves that choice to you, the player.
